What's in My Sketchbook?

Finally wind down from the iPad fever (a bit) and reckon I'd better get back to my sketch book page...

Since I haven't sketched or painted for a while, I had problem of coming up with interesting subjects for the sketch book page.

As I sat in front of the blank page feeling frustrated,  I saw something glittering in my paint box.  There I discovered some long forgotten tubes of silver and gold acrylic paints.  I remembered the excitement when I bought them a year ago, but some how I never got around to use them.

To test run the metallic paints, I decided to create some imaginary skeleton keys.  I imagined them as objects from a mysterious world.  They are used to find and unlock things which are long gone.

The sketch is also for Paint Party Friday - hosted by Eva and Kristin.  All are welcomed!  Do join in to share and support each other!

Cheers and have great weekend! xxoo

(P.S. To ensure I'm on time for PPF, I'm posting this a day earlier.)

I love your delicate drawings and watercolors. Inspiration is all around us, just waiting for us to find it, isn't it?

Your keys are lovely. And yes, metalic paint can bring illuminosity to our creative spirit. Well done. Happy PPF

This sketch is fantastic! I am a huge fan of keys and that you used a supply you have forgotten about makes it even better. I have 1 or 2 (okay, more) supplies like that so I feel great joy when I get around to using one.

i love your sketch of the keys. there's something so magical about keys-- especially antique keys... so much prettier than the hardware store keys of today.

i'm working on my second iPad and i still struggle with the fact that i can't seem to upload anything to my blog directly from the iPad. if you get it figured out, let me know!

I agree! It looks like cloth! Maybe that is all the shading? Your work is just beautiful - and I love this concept. Wonderful, xo

I love old keys as well, great page... I wish i had advice for you on the ipad, i use mine for posts easily but actually i have the ipad2, maybe that is the difference. I had trouble gettingthe pics posted but a word post was simple. My only struggle now is to post more than one pic per post, that i have to go back to my computer for, i'm sure there's a way but i haven't figured it out yet.
