The tangles-drawing is really addictive! I kept wandering off thinking about patterns while working on STOS. And I found myself looking at things differently. All of a sudden, things appear to me not as objects, but shapes and patterns. This led me to browse through art books at Borders and came home with V&A Pattern Box Set (Victoria and Albert Museum). I'm thinking of using it as reference to create some new tangles. Not sure if I can do it, but it's worth a try, right?
Here are some of this week's Hybrid Tangles. Tell me what you think! :)
I really love these, they look such a relaxing thing to do. I haven't been to the V&A for years but browsing that website makes me want to make another visit.
I can understand why it's addictive. I know what you mean about seeing patterns instead of objects, when I did 3-D decoupage I used to see everything in 3-D. Anyway, I really like what you're doing.
Ooh when you start creating new patterns, will you share them please? I love doing zentangles, but can't be creative with them at all. Kinda getting tired of the patterns they showed me ...
Love the one that looks like a bird. Very creative how you are making pictures with them, taking it a step beyond.
Thank you soooo much for all your encouraging comments!
This means a lot to me as I have close to zero drawing skill, I didn't expect people to say my tangles are good, excellent, beautiful, cool and (visually?) creative. This gives me confidence to keep going.
Oh these are so captivating...the mandala..with the smaller ones..on the circle background...wow! And...the "tangles" design indeed make me do a double-take...they have such movement and intricacy. Amazing! Thanks for the inspiration!

Wow....wow!
You made those? Your mind is so complex and fascinating! Wow...
Your Zentangles are excellent, such a meditative past-time. Your set of books look interesting. I love books - I want to see inside. *chuckle*
Thanks for your comment on my blog. I appreciate your support.
Wow, those are really nice!!
Very cool - I love your Zentangle garden. Isn't it a treat to lose yourself in the art ?
Cheers !
Both these are excellent Hybrid.
And I love how this art form is teaching you to look at objects differently.
I have a feeling it will help with your creative writing as well.
:-D

I love your "Tangles". I have been creating zentangle ATCs for swaps and I agree - they are addictive!

such wonderful patterns - these are so cool.
Those are beautiful. And so creative.
The first one really looks like something out of a children's book. I can imagine each shape is a different character. Fun!
