As much as I’m still feeling off balance (creatively), I started the “Wreck This Journal” project.
Thanks for Jamie Ridler’s week 1 vlogging, she encouraged all participants to let go the constraints which we usually associated with keeping a journal - like the copy has to be tidy and pristine. She reminded us this journal craved to be “destroyed”.
I have to say that I like keeping my books and writing materials clean and tidy. I don’t like mess. So I felt a bit nervous when I discovered one of the tasks was to “crack the spine”. How could I crack the spine of a new book? But I remembered Jamie’s reminder. Hence I took a deep breath and did it. Amazing things followed – Burn one of the pages … easy! Spill coffee on it … piece of cake! Poke holes … no problem!

But the most enjoyable part for me is to number the pages. Instead of doing it chronically, I used random numbers and words.
This is fun and surely made this cold Saturday afternoon a lot brighter!

You're off to a fantastic start! Love the randomness of the "numbering"! :)
Awesome! You've done a lot of wrecking already! Can't wait to see what you've wrecked next!
I am wrecking away, even though I'm completely resistant to this whole thing!
You're doing great!
Great start. I like the way you numbered. I did mine neatly in the corner - in order, of course. Yuuukkkk! So rigid. Spilling coffee and spitting Ugghhh! Haven't done that yet. Very strange feelings coming up.
Totally amazing. Genius to use random numbering and words. Love it!
You know, cracking the spine was one of the biggest challenges for me too. I bet we were like book chiropractors and the journal actually breathed a sign of relief! hehe.
Yippee! Let the games begin! Wreck on!
Hi All,
Thanks for the lovely and encouraging comments. I really enjoy the random numbering. I found the wrecking not only happening to the book but started to rub off on my own creativity. I'm feeling a bit more daring! I'm loving this game!!! :D
I like the idea of random numbers too!
Congratulations on letting go of your constraints and allowing yourself to play! I love that you 'numbered' your pages in a very creative manner. I decided to skip that assignment. Who needs numbers anyway? LOL
YAY, you're jumping right in! This will be a great adventure. Thanks for visiting the happyluau, Hybrid J. I numbered my pages in reverse order and all over the page too. It feels good to let go. Blessings, Olivia
Hi Alex, Pink Heels & Olivia,
What a vibrant book club we have here! Thanks for dropping by and looking forward to see you all at the next round of "wrecking". ;)
wreck on! you are off to a fabulous start!! can't wait to share the rest of the journey with you!
WOW - you really jumped in and did some fabulous wrecking!! I love the random numbers and words!! It's fun to break the rules -especially the rules we didn't even know we had for ourselves. I'm looking forward to our wrecking journey together!!
Hi Melita - You too, wreck on!!! :)
Hi Kim - I agree. It's only when the rules are there that we realize we had carried them all these time. So you too, wreck on!! ;)
Great start! Can't wait to see what else you do on this journey.
Hope you're feeling better these days....
Hi Tabitha,
The wrecking is good fun to warm up the winter here. I'm feeling a lot better and picking up the paces ... :)
