What's in My Sketchbook?

Got some pleasant meetings last week ...

Some long lost friends have decided to reconnect ... been out about having wonderful lunches and dinners ...

So apologize to have missed out last week's sketchbook post ... (also been waiting for some sunny days to take photos, we're having long stretch of cold rainy days for winter.)

Here is another lion skull (front view) with a bluish purple rose.

20110423 Lion & Blue Rose CU

And as soon as I finished the sketch, the following came to me.

"She has been gazing out from the cave for eons.  She has become the echo of time and space."

20110423 Lion & Blue Rose 3

I think there's a winter tale coming up! ;)

The sketch is also for Paint Party Friday (hosted by Eva and Kristin).  All are welcomed!  Do join in to share and support each other.

Cheers and have a wonderful weekend!

You make such wonderful skulls and that rose makes it even more special. :)

It's just wonderful, but so sad & lonely, giving it a rose, ahh bittersweet... I not only think the art is great but the photography with the stark branches & sharp shadows.. fantastic :)

Another great skull composition - I really love the juxtaposition (is that the right term) of the skull with the flower in bloom. I said it the last time and I'll say it again - your eye for how to photograph your work is amazing! I wish you would give plebs like me a tutorial - I could really do with making the photos in my etsy shop look as good as these!!

Hello Darlin'

I did miss you so! I'm happy to hear you've been out having fun times with old friends....catching up and hopefully laughing and giggling a lot:)

I love the stick shadows on your sketch, too....I almost missed it though...I was so busy looking at all the detail of the sketch itself, it wasn't until I read 1 of the comments did I see the play of shadows across it...haha! Am I scrutinizing too much?! :D

Much love,
Cam

I just bought myself a new sketchbook and your beautiful drawing has inspired me to work a little slower for better results. (I tend to want to finish too quickly and end up with scribbles.)

Thanks for sharing such a wonderful sketch. Love the words around it as well!
