What's in My Sketchbook?

A sketch which I worked from one of the random photos and combines my love of all things British and Dr Martens ... :)

What’s interesting about this sketch is you can view it this way …

The sketch is also for Paint Party Friday (hosted by Eva and Kristin).  All are welcomed!  Do join in to share and support each other!

Cheers and have a fantastic weekend!

(Sorry for the poor photo! Though I took it on a bright sunny day, it came out a bit dull ...)

Love how you did this. The colors are so right. Having three makes it even better and so interesting, for such a simple subject. Happy PPF.

Now those are some shoes! What a statement they make. Love how you did the page so it can be viewed from this way or that. And of course the color palette is beautiful. I'm a fan of complimentary palettes!! Happy PPF :-)

Hey guess what... Dr Martens are made by a company called Griggs - based in the town where I live!!

I'm not sure if they are all made in the UK anymore - probably not! But it's a local thing for me. When I was about 14 we went round the factory on a school trip.

Really lovely, the detail of the dead branches gives it a delicate poetic contrast.

This is my first week at PPF and I am so happy to be part of the celebration!! Doc Martin's rock by the way, I actually got married in a pair, I'd bought them in Scotland & hubby & I were traveling around the world, got married in a New Orleans courthouse, Doc Martins, jeans & jumper LOL... still wear the Docs today although the snakeskin print has faded ;) Love the sketch book & artwork, very cool!!

I LOVE the way you did this, especially the way the page works from different angles- that's GREAT and I also love how simple your colors are- the drawing part is so strong and it really takes center stage here....
I'm totally new to the art journaling thing, so I'm really interested in seeing how others do what they do and then finding ways to translate it into my own style.
