Absence from Blogging
Things in my creative life are all up in the air and I'm waiting for them to land ... if they ever would.
So my dear fellow bloggers and creatives, I'll be sitting quietly over at that far corner til I got this all sort out and know where I stand.
Til then, you all take care! ;)

NaNo Update
I started writing STOS as a series of stories based loosely on a common theme at the beginning of the year. Through out the writing process, I had a tugging feeling that I was writing more than “a series of stories”. For a fleeting moment, the name “novel” popped up in my mind. But I disregarded it, as I didn’t think I was ready to write novel length story. However, the seed was sowed.
For those who follow this blog (thank you!) you know that I’m also working my way through Eric Maisel’s books on creativity. One thing Maisel encourages all creatives is to dream and think big. Don’t limit yourself. This brought me back to STOS. But I was still hesitated.
Now that I'm only 3 weeks away from NaNo, I could not afford to be indecisive, hence this is it. I’ll make use of NaNo to finish STOS.
Wish me luck! :)

Hybrid Tiles
I’m writing this with a very unusual realization. I’m trying to interpret it as a good creative sign.
I have always identified my creative passion as writing. But since I picked up Zentangles on August, I’ve been on a drawing spree. And looking at the various tangles posts, I noticed that I have veered from tangles drawing to doodles and illustrative type of drawing very quickly.
Something hit me hard over the weekend: I bought a small (A6) sketch book and began to develop and try out drawing ideas. This was crazy and totally unexpected!
The result of this madness was these 2 new drawings and a sleepless night to ponder on my creative life and the emerging creative direction. (I’ll write about it in a new post).

Enjoy and let me know what you think of them!

Hybrid Tangles? Doodles?
Why am I doing this? Anyway, I don't think they are really tangles, much more like abstract kind of doodles.
Here are 2 of them. Enjoy and let me know what you think.

I Don't Want To Be Your Mug!
I blame it to my character fault. Lots of people, both men and women, all say that females are born to multi-task. Well, not this one here. I might be good at multi-task at work(??) but not in my creative life.
Right now, my mind is working on overdrive to sort out story ideas for NaNo. On the one hand, I'd like to use NaNo to finish STOS. On the other hand, a new story idea has been cropping up several times the last few weeks wanting to be written. I quite like it and it has lots of potentials. Because of this idea war, I don't have spare head space for other creative activities, including blogging. So I think I'll post less until I'm in better (mind) shape.
But here is something for you, my fellow bloggers and creatives.
This morning I woke up with this in my mind: "I don't want to be your mug!"
I'm offering you this as a cue to your next creative project, whether it be a story or doodles. Feel free to use is in whatever way you like.
It would be nice if you could leave a comment or a link to let me know what you do with it. I've been thinking just who would say such weird thing and why.
Cheers and have a nice weekend!
P.S. Now you know why I claim that I'm a writer of strange tales. I constantly have this kind of weird phrase going in and out of my mind. :)
