Anyway the playful ME decided this is no time for serious finished drawing / painting work. I'm going to cheat a little by just showing you one of my drawing exercises. (Apologize of the glare in the pix.)
The exercise is prescribed by Matthew Archambault from Drawing Tutorials Online (DTO)- a wonderful place to learn about figure drawing. As it is Matt's teaching method, I won't be telling you exactly what we are doing. The only thing I'm going to tell you is that it is all about hand eye co-ordination. (Oh, and just so you know, this is my 2nd try with DTO. Not that there was anything wrong with them the 1st time. It was ME who took up more than I could handle the first round.)
After about 2 years of self-taught myself to draw and paint, I have gained lots of insight of my creative preferences, directions and goals. I think it is time to give myself a challenge, I mean A Challenge. So apart from joining DTO, I also joined its sister site, Painting Tutorial Online (PTO), to learn about oil painting.
During this learning period, I hope that I could still keep up with my weekly (or more like biweekly) sketchbook pages here. Not sure if I'll be ready to post any oil painting study / exercise here yet. We'll see how things go.
So, my dear fellow creatives, wish me luck!

Aren't you a busy bee! :) So good you're learning new things and I love your photo of you and your Boy. :)
Loving your photo and your sketch exercises. Happy PPF, Annette x
I love the photo of you and your boy!! What a fantastic skull!
I think it's great that you are challenging yourself and that you're taking on online courses - I have so much to learn but just can't seem to find the time to do anything more than I'm already doing. I can't wait to see your oil paintings as that will be such a departure from your work to date!
Oh, I get Matt's posts sent to me by email. He lives near where I live. I wish I could take a live class but he only teaches in SVA in NYC. Which is close by train but too much darn trouble for me to get there.
I was considering his online course. I'll keep checking back to see if you like the class.
You've accomplished a great deal as a self taught artist. I'm sure the online course will only make you even better!
Oh, and I like your bony friend.
Great goals! DTO and PTO sound fabulous and such good learning for you. Can't wait to see what comes of this. Happy PPF
Interesting exercise and your photo is lovely, you are definitely heads over the "boy" in beauty though...but he does have some nice curves to be redeemable.
wonderful to read about your enthusiasm to practice and learn. wishing you a grand time.
Oil painting!? Wow, what a wonderful adventure! I do wish you luck and hope to see some of it here, xo

It's you! It's good to be able to put a face to your blog, now. I have to say, you're a lot better looking than your boy there, LOL. Can't wait to see what you do with the oils. I know it will be wonderful.
