Wreck This Journal - Week 8
Sorry fellow wreckers, only 1 wrecking this week ... if it counted as a wrecking act at all. See pix!
And why no wrecking ---> because I'm really pissed off without a car. (If you recall from my last post, I got a minor car accident a few weeks' ago and the car is at the repairer this week ...). I don't want to bore you with all the inconvenient details of not having a car except this one.
You see, my house is quite far away from my office - 3 changes of train, a total of 1.5 hours. And we're in the middle of winter which means chill mornings with strong wind and showers. Imagine standing on the train platfrom 7 o'clock in the morning with wind & rain in you hair. Bloody miserable!!! And I still have to endure this ordeal for another week before getting my car back.
With all of these crankiness going on, I had no choice but to break the promise I had made to myself on Jan this year. (The promise: I was not to buy any clothes and / or accessories for 12 months.) I bought myself a pair of Dr Martens with Wings. (The one I'm wearing in the pix). Did I feel better? Ooooooh yes!!!
There you go my fellow wreckers, I'm a happy woman again! :)

those are cute boots!
hope you get your car back soon...i haven't had a car in almost 7 years, but i am a stay at home mom, so no dealing with commuting. sounds yucky, the wind, the cold...hope it's over soon!
Of course you needed wings for the journey! Fly!
Well my fellow creative, if it makes you feel any better, I have joined you in the car woes. No accident for me - just a breakdown that cost me nearly £400 (if you don't know what this is in Aus$ - think the price of a small island - or thereabouts!).
Love the boots. They used to make them where I live (Northampton), but I think all the manufacture has gone to the Far East now. The company is called Griggs - so now you know!
A car wreck makes up for never having to wreck a journal if you don't want to....
Hope that car gets fixed soon!
Cool Doc Martens! Hope you get your car back pronto.
I'm so sorry to hear that you are STILL w/o a car but at least now your feet are stylin'! I love that the Dr Martins with WINGS are next to the papaer airplane - ready to FLY!!
I think your journl should be honored be abused by those great boots!!
hope your care is well soon!! An NO I would not like that daily trip to work..ugh
I love your new Wings!
Big hug. This is temporary and things will be better soon.
And you will be a happy wrecker again soon.
With wings like that, you will soon reach the height of happy wrecking!!! Sorry about your car, hope you get it back sooner than expected. I remember standing on platforms waiting for trains in winter, back in the day when we wore suits to work. I brought knitted legwarmers in my purse, it was so cooooooooooooooooooold.
Man! It's time you attend to that 'angry' page in the journal! Hope you get the car back soon.
Even before I read your post and saw the picture I was thinking 'wow' love the boots!
Nothing like a bit of retail therapy I say!
I LOVE those boots too! I don't know if we can even get those over here in the States. WOW....I feel for you and all the mess with your car. If you have insurance wouldn't they cover the cost for a rental till yours was fixed??
There are no rules! You can wreck as many or as few pages as you would like. : )
Sorry to see you are without a car! Hope next week is easier on you!
I'm sorry. I know how terrible winter can be. It's summer here right now but I live in North Dakota, which means our winters last 6 months and get down to 40 below. Icky. Hope to see you back for the next giveaway! Can't wait to reveal it!
Love your winged boots. No, it isn't fun having to take all those trains in the cold, don't they give you a loaner car there? Take some the anger out on your journal. pervect time to do some major wrecking!!
Thanks for visiting my blog and for you nice comments. I love to hear from you.
Love the Docs! Love that you have spent time visiting the other wreckers, even with the long commute and no car! I had a little shudder just thinking about it...If I had to take mass transit (I wish there was an easy way to do so), I would have to take bunches of buses and a train to get there. Hats off to you for perservering.
You look fabulous in those wings, Sweet One. I hope the week coming quickly at us is way better for you. So mote it be!!!
I'm so totally out of touch - it took me a few looks at the photo before I understood the "wings" part. I kept thinking that multi colored part was a pair of socks. LOL
Take care, stay warm and you will most certainly appreciate your time and the car for quite awhile after this ordeal.
Wings! To take flight ... ummm, or stomp on your journal, lol. It's all good.
Ugh, an hour and a half commute, each way. I'd be grouchy as all get out. Take it out on your journal!
How's Pepper feeling?
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the lovely and warm comments. It brightens up the grey sky here. And just so you know, Pepper is recovering fine - bright and shiny!
And glad you all think my DM is cool!!! xxoo
I love your boots and your wicked stomping photo!
I love the doc mart they are fantastic, where did you got them? I guess in my country would be impossible, should go to london for that.
I think you did pretty well to break the promise, next time just promise but with exeptions for crappy times.
