I got a nifty point and shot camera about 2 weeks ago. It was a Canon IXUS 115 HS. I so love "the little bugger" (yes, that's what I call my camera. I'm such a dork!) that I made a sketch of it!
The little bugger is very handy and takes great photos. (I mean in the hands of an amateur like me.) It reminded me of a time when I used to take lots of photos of pebbles, stones and what not.
I'm beginning to feel that the little bugger is changing my creative life.
[*KnocK* *KnocK*] Did you hear that? I think it's little bugger's Big Brother coming for a visit ... or may be a stay. ;)

The sketch is also for Paint Party Friday (hosted by Eva and Kristin). All are welcomed! Do join in to share and support each other!
Cheers and have a fantastic weekend!

both great, from Matthew Archamb....(forget how to spell his last name!) He teaches at the NY School of Visual Arts and I've found both of the sites well worth the small subscription fee. [I'm not affiliated]
What a fantastic sketch! I love the colors. And I love the little bugger! I need to get me a little bugger. I have a big bugger.
Wonderful sketchbook page. Isn't it great how such simple subjects can become beautiful art?
I LOVE your sketchbook pages- to me, they are what sketchbooks are *supposed* to be like- with all those layers of images one leading to the next-almost a word association kind of thing if that makes any sense!
Oh I got a new Canon for Christmas- I LOVE my little bugger too :D
Happy PPF- a day late!
Stephanie

Great camera and great painting/sketch! The layout is so full of little details, and I like the text flowing across all the mini "frames"...Happy Weekend!
Hi Jamie =)
Great sketch and journal page! Thanks for visiting my "parrot" PPF blog. I have painted with acrylics for most of my life, and have a tip that might help you. Don't think that you must paint quickly or get it exactly right before it dries...let it dry and then paint over it to fix it or change it. Its not so much about blending...its more about adding strokes and layers. At least, that's how I use them. Its the most stress-free medium for me because I can always cover up a mistake completely, lol...no failures ;)Hope this helps a bit, Kathryn - ps. I love sashimi and chai tea too...having a cup right now =D
I love your header photograph!
And all of your drawings too.
Organized simplicity...with a lot of detail. Does that make sense? It's the best way to descibe your work.

I love the name for youe camera! And i love watercolour washes too. Great sketches. I love the idea of photography and taking perfect photos to use as inspiration for future paintings. I'll look forward to seeing yours.
Loving your drawings. That's great that you got the new camera! Have lots of fun, and post pics often!
Photography is such a great way to bring out your creative side, even if you're an amateur (like myself)! Great sketch!

Great sketch! Love that splash of color.
Look at the traffic you've generated here, Darling!!! I'm so happy so many have come here...and that you let us peek into your sketchbook! This is fabulous, Jamie!!!
I especially love the way you bled the colors together in that pebble part. Congrats on the new camera, too...so much fun to have a new toy to fuel inspiration :D
What a lovely sketchbook page. I like you quiet use of color. It really makes those little areas stand out.
