I l LOVE her eyes and her white eyebrows!
I have many paintings where part of it is left white because I couldnt decide on the colour....and now it looks just right on some of them.

I'm hearing you on the workshops...but all education is good, right?!
Maybe check out Wyanne's 'Paint Free' or Dirty Footprints Studio 'Big' e-classes - they are not 'how to paint/draw', ...but more about finding your own voice - or finding the CONFIDENCE in your own voice...am I making sense?

Anyway....your work is exsquisite Hybrid J!

And thanks for visiting my blog and leaving your comment - I appreciate it so much!
x
Jane DavenportJane Davenport | Artomologisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02356801134445556909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1551773263974891464.post-27573387172716867402011-01-21T18:02:51.915+11:002011-01-21T18:02:51.915+11:00Wow she is so beautiful. They are intriguing, their eyes are stunning and make you wonder...

I think I would like to see her eyebrows yellow to match her hair. The green in her hair takes away from her eyes in my opinion. But could suggest an alien nature???

I love your bugs, fantastic detailing but (I'm going to be honest - so prepare yourself) I think they clutter the composition of the painting overall. My eye is taken away from the girl to examine them and I really just want to gaze into her eyes. I don't think the painting really needs them all.

I hope you dont mind me being so critical. Personally I always prefer honest opinions on my posts rather than airy fairy niceness.

The title "Come to me' suggests she is calling in all bugs, because of all the bugs. Which incidentally fits with what you have written about bringing out your undiscovered interest in 'nature'.

You show so much natural talent with your work. Its amazing you are only discovering it all now, and with so much dedication.

Well done!Chapter Fortyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16005206439235137179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1551773263974891464.post-49126970752658888942011-01-18T13:35:37.214+11:002011-01-18T13:35:37.214+11:00Hello, My Dear! I'm so very proud of you for ...Hello, My Dear! I'm so very proud of you for taking a chance and going for it! Yes, painting is a whole other animal....one that does not like to be tamed...heehee...

I must say I love the bugs, too...they give the painting an ethereal fairy/goddess quality which I adore :) At first, I thought her hair looked like leaves....but, perhaps her hair is yellow like the glow of a flame (and perhaps her skin could have that same effect) that lures the winged creatures to her...hence, the name!

I like the name...though she seems a little closed...nipples small and tight, like she's cold, a look that dares, rather than welcomes, arms pulled in tight, unrelaxed....

I do love the flush you put on your girls' cheeks in the sketches...all warm and flush...which gives the tightness in stance and gaze more tension, like arousal...perhaps?

I look forward to seeing what more you do with her! Well done, Sweetheart :)Cameronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14435728791853628468noreply@blogger.com
